How many fitness programs for teenagers improve all ten aspects of physical fitness? Cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
Our RxFitness teen classes are specially designed to improve all domains of physical fitness. Beyond that, and even more important in this day and age, our program is designed to improve mental fitness as well.
Our philosophy is based on the Youth Empowerment System – a character-driven, level-based system which helps foster focus, resilience, perseverance, and grit. We work on growing our teenagers mindsets, encouraging them to do better and be better, building their confidence.
Our classes are based on building good body mechanics and motor patterns which help keep teens safe and injury-free in activities they do outside of the gym. Your teens will become fitter, faster, stronger, more co-ordinated, and best of all, develop a life-long love of fitness.
We start each class by discussing the mindset focus for the month. This focus relates to what we do in the gym, and also our mindset outside the gym.
We then do a group warm up, to get ready for the work ahead. The class is then split into two sections.
We start with a strength or skill focus. We can scale the work for each teen in the class, depending on where they are at. In the second part of class we do a workout which focuses on building cardiovascular and respiratory strength. Again, everything is scaled to the individual.
Lastly, if time permits we finish with a game. Fitness should be fun!
At RX Fitness our teens class is not just a watered down version of an adults class. Our program is specifically designed for this age group, and taught by qualified youth coaches who are specifically trained to work with children.
