COACH MAC

A qualified Level 5 Personal Trainer along with Qualifications as a Level 2 Crossfit Trainer, and Kids Crossfit Trainer; Mac’s years of experience in the sporting arena and amazing ability to inspire his young athletes makes him a force to be reckoned with. He strives to bring out the best in everyone and makes his classes fun and interesting.

COACH NIKKI

With 20+ years experience in exercise and rehab and qualifications that include Degree and Postgrad level in Sports Therapy, Massage and Post Natal Training she brings a wealth of knowledge, empathy and passion to her work.

She understands the juggle of young children and the need to prioritise a mothers own health and well-being. She has a passion for coaching and education and thrives on seeing people working towards being better every day and watching friendships build and flourish.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – BEX

I’m the newest team member of RX Fitness 235!  Bringing with me 20+ years in Customer Service, Communications and Operations Management, I’m here to coordinate big events and ideas. 

Also in my wheelhouse is streamlining processes, enhancing our Members’ experience and helping to support our Coaches as they transform lives in our community. 

I fell in love with this sport 10 years ago and joined RX Fitness 235 as an athlete in 2016, to say this is a dream job for me is a definite understatement!

TEENS & NUTRITION
– COACH ROSIE

I’ve been training for about six years now, and coaching for five. I have my CrossFit level 1, CrossFit Kids cert, CrossFit gymnastics cert, personal training certification and am also certified in coaching nutrition for health and performance. Outside the gym, my interests include reading and writing and learning new things. Probably developed during all the years where I avoided any kind of physical activity!

For my whole life before I started functional fitness, I was always the “weak” one and the “unfit” one. The last time I remember doing any sport was when I was 13 and the school dean (at Waiuku College!!) said I couldn’t represent my house (Rimu btw) at shot put on athletics day because “that’s an event for the stronger girls.” And after that experience – for 16 years – I just thought of myself as the person who would always be chosen last. Until I started this programme. 

And that’s why I love coaching teens. I don’t think any kids or teens (or adults!) should grow up thinking they’re “weak” or “unfit”. I wish all kids and teens and adults knew what they were capable of, and I love that in coaching, we help people realise how amazing they are and how much potential they have in all areas of their life.

COACH RANGI

Another local, Rangi brings a calm and straight forward approach to his classes. You can guarantee you will come away with as little nugget of information that helps you in some way and he will always get you to work on time! A Level 1 Crossfit Trainer with a background in adventure racing and having completed the Coast to Coast he understands the mindset and commitment it takes to prioritise yourself and your well-being. He is a committed and inspiring leader and appreciates the importance of strength training to support any endurance sport.

COACH GRACE

When I joined RX Fitness 235 a number of years ago, I didn’t anticipate it would be such a big part of my life. I had always been someone that ‘went to the gym’ but more often than not found myself wandering around with no real purpose. That changed when I joined RX Fitness 235. Every workout had a purpose, every movement requires technique and suddenly I had goals I wanted to achieve.

When Mac and Nikki approached me to be a coach I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. It is a privilege for me to help people on their journey for self improvement. Using my experience in CrossFit and my natural ability to communicate with people from all walks of life, I hope to make their class the best hour of their day and give them a little something to help them tick off their goals.
